FOUNDERS’ AWARD HONOREE: LYNDA AUSBURN

The 2012 Founders’ Award will be presented to Lynda Teague Ausburn on February 26, 2012. The Founders’ Award was established to recognize a company, organization or individual who best exemplifies the work and mission of The Center for Family Resources, as well as the spirit and vision of founders Fred Bentley, Sr., Howard Ector, and Harry Holliday.

Lynda Teague Ausburn is a native Atlantan who has enjoyed a long career in property management and development. She is a partner in Walton Communities, an Atlanta-based company with 3,800 apartments in the Metro area and Augusta. Walton Communities’ core purpose is to develop homes and communities that impact this generation, as well as the next generation. This is accomplished through unique programs and services that are offered to residents and team members alike. In addition, Lynda has enjoyed serving the community through involvement with organizations like the Center for Family Resources, Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb, Parents with a Purpose, the Atlanta Youth Project, the Ferst Foundation, Cobb Senior Services, Food Security for America, as well as her home church, First Baptist of Marietta. ABOUT THE CENTER FOR FAMILY RESOURCES:

For over five decades, CFR has changed thousands of lives by assisting low-income families with employment, education, and housing services; leadership development programs; mentoring opportunities; and temporary financial and food assistance. CFR's history has been written by the thousands of families breaking the cycle of poverty by acquiring the resources they need to become independent and self-sufficient.

Oscar Night America® – Atlanta raised over $277,000 for CFR in 2011!
